NEW DONOR IDENTIFICATION AND DEVELOPMENT
We can’t tell you how many times we have been asked, “How do we find new donors?”. There are two answers to the question. The first is you don’t, they find you. The second answer is you find them through your Board, other donors, your professional relationships, civic and volunteer involvement, your place of worship, local service organizations your involvement on-line and basically everywhere you interact as an outward facing organization.
The problem with the second answer is that the first answer also applies. You don’t find donors; you create an opportunity for caring people to choose to support your cause. Once again sharing your passion for your mission and engaging someone else in that passion accomplish this. While this seems rather straightforward, the process of engagement needs to be deliberate and well managed. This is an area where BHA has significant insight and has helped many organizations to breakthrough with their fundraising.
